Scotia ends the Sir Bills five game winning streak

Scotia defeated the Johnstown Sir Bills, 5-4 on Friday night in Scotia, NY to snap the Sir Bills five game winning streak. Casey Rivera led the Sir Bills at the plate. He went 1-for-3 with three runs batted in and hit his second home run of the season. Jake Arunnategui helped out, he went 1-for-3 with a double and one run scored.

The Sir Bills fall to 7-9 overall and 6-7 in the Foothill Council. Scotia improves to 10-3 overall.

Scotia got on the board first with two runs in the bottom of the third. Esperti singled in the first run. Madcharo hit a sacrifice fly to center field knocking in the second run.

Tartans took a 3-0 lead with one run in the bottom of the fourth on a RBI single by Dwyer.

Johnstown took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fifth, plating four runs. Arunnategui led off the inning with a walk. Ryan Brown hit a one-out single to put runners on first and second. Arunnategui stole third right before Rivera hit a three-run home run to tie the game. The Sir Bills took the lead when Jordan Hill reached on an error by the shortstop, scoring Wesley Clark.

Scotia answered in the bottom of the fifth, tying the game at 4-4 on a RBI double by Gordan.

Tartans took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth and would hold off the Sir Bills in the top of the seventh for the victory.

The Sir Bills return to action on Monday, May 12th when they will travel to play the Gloversville Huskies. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
